About Evergreen & Glen

Evergreen Lawn and Small Engine Repair has been in the lawn care industry for over 32 years.

At the age of 14, I received my first mini bike with a Briggs and Stratton engine. Although it was used and junk, to me it was shiny and the engine purred like a cat. At the time my father, who worked to make ends meet, had a small part-time landscape business. I would go and cut with my father and watch how my grandfather and father worked to keep the equipment working properly.

I was interested in how the engines were repaired because I wanted my bike engine to run perfectly and gain more speed. Seeing my interest in engines and the love I had for working on them, my grandfather enrolled me in the Passaic County Vocational school to take an Adult Education class in small engine repair, so I could learn the proper way to repair them in depth. Well, the first night in class when they learned I was the student it did not go well, but because of insurance they would let me stay, as long as I did not touch the engines and only my grandfather could. I was thrilled with that because although I couldn’t touch the engines at night, the next day in my father’s garage I had six Briggs and Stratton, Honda, and Tecumseh engines I could fix.

As I graduated high school, my father got promoted in his job and had no more time for the landscape business. Having worked with him for years and being quite able to maintain the equipment, I decided to take over his part-time business.

The rest is history. I went to Rutgers Landscape School, Lincoln Technical, various engine repair courses and most of all worked hard to make the lawns beautiful and the engines purr.

Now, 32 years later, I love both, the lawns and engines, but I seem to be doing a lot more repairs, maybe it’s because we try to provide the very best power equipment repair service to customers, who take pride in their business and personal equipment.
